Traditional Braces in Arlington, TX
Time-tested, predictable orthodontic treatment for cases where clear aligners aren't the right tool. Modern brackets are smaller, more comfortable, and more efficient than they used to be.

When the bracket-and-wire approach is the right call.
For severely crowded teeth, complex bite issues, or kids and teens still in active growth, traditional braces remain the gold standard. They give your dentist or orthodontist control that clear aligners can't match.
Modern braces are nothing like the metal contraptions of the 90s - brackets are smaller, smoother, and more comfortable, and treatment is significantly faster than it used to be.

Why patients choose Traditional Braces.
Treats every case
No type of orthodontic problem is off-limits - braces handle severe crowding, rotation, and complex bite issues that aligners can't.
Predictable, efficient
24/7 force application means continuous progress - no risk of skipping wear time like with removable aligners.
Often the best for kids
Compliance is built in - there's nothing to forget to wear. Great for active growth phases.
Faster than they used to be
Modern self-ligating brackets and improved wire alloys often shave 4-6 months off old treatment timelines.
Starting at $99/month
Total treatment cost typically $3,000-$5,000 depending on case complexity and treatment length. Predictable monthly payments - CareCredit and in-house plans available.
What Is Traditional Braces?
Traditional metal braces remain the most reliable solution for complex orthodontic cases. They handle severe crowding, deep bite issues, and major rotations that clear aligners can’t always correct — and modern brackets are much smaller and more comfortable than they used to be.
Our Traditional Braces Services
Metal Braces
Durable, time-tested, effective for nearly any alignment case. Smaller and lower-profile than older systems.
Ceramic Braces
Tooth-colored brackets blend in for a less-visible appearance, with the same effectiveness as metal.
Bite Correction
Address overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open-bite issues that aligners struggle with.
Regular Adjustments
Every 4–8 weeks for tightening and progress monitoring.

Traditional Braces FAQs
How long do braces stay on?
12–30 months for most cases. Severe cases can run longer.
Do braces hurt?
You’ll feel soreness for a few days after each adjustment, then it fades. Daily wear is comfortable once you adjust.

Absolutely. We treat patients of all ages.
What about ceramic vs metal?
Ceramic blends in better but costs more and can stain if you don’t maintain hygiene.

How long do traditional braces take?
Most cases run 18-24 months. Mild cases can finish in 12; severe cases may take 30+ months. We'll give you a personalized timeline after evaluating your case.
Do braces still hurt as much as they used to?
Initial soreness for a few days after each adjustment is normal - usually managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Modern brackets are smoother and cause far fewer cheek/lip irritations than older designs.
Can I get clear ceramic brackets instead of metal?
For most cases, yes. Ceramic brackets are tooth-colored and much less visible. They cost a bit more and are slightly more fragile, but cosmetic results are excellent.
What foods do I have to avoid?
Hard, sticky, and crunchy foods - gum, caramel, popcorn kernels, ice, hard nuts, whole apples (slice them first). Damaged brackets cause delays. We'll give you a complete list at your bonding appointment.
How often will I need adjustments?
Every 4-8 weeks. Each adjustment is quick - usually 15-30 minutes - to swap or tighten wires.
