Dental Bone Grafting in Arlington, TX
Rebuilding jawbone where it has shrunk - usually in preparation for a future implant. A routine, predictable procedure that opens up implant treatment for patients who otherwise couldn't qualify.

When jawbone needs to be rebuilt.
After a tooth is lost, the jawbone underneath gradually shrinks because it no longer has a root to support. For implant patients with insufficient bone volume, grafting rebuilds what's missing.
We perform bone grafting in-office for routine cases - socket preservation immediately after extraction, ridge augmentation before implant placement, and minor sinus elevations. Healing typically takes 3-6 months before the implant phase can begin.

Why patients choose Bone Grafting.
Opens up implant treatment
Many patients are told "you don't have enough bone for implants." Grafting solves that problem.
Routine, predictable
Bone grafting has been performed in dentistry for decades - it's a well-studied, well-understood procedure.
Often combined with extraction
Socket preservation grafts placed immediately after extraction prevent bone loss before it happens.
Multiple graft material options
We use FDA-approved synthetic, bovine, and allograft materials depending on the case - discussed at consultation.
What Is Bone Grafting?
Bone grafting rebuilds jaw bone that has been lost due to tooth extraction, gum disease, or trauma. It’s most often done to prepare a site for a dental implant when there isn’t enough natural bone to support one.

Rebuilds the jaw ridge when significant bone loss has already occurred.

Bone Grafting FAQs
How long until I can get an implant?
Most grafts heal in 3–6 months before an implant can be placed. Sometimes graft and implant are done at the same time.
Where does the graft material come from?
Most often from processed donor bone (allograft) or synthetic material. Sometimes from your own jaw or chin (autograft) for larger cases.
Is bone grafting painful?
You’re numb during the procedure and the soreness afterwards is comparable to an extraction. Most patients are comfortable on ibuprofen alone.

Bone Grafting questions, answered.

Why do I need a bone graft?
Usually because you're planning an implant and your CBCT scan shows the bone volume in that area is insufficient to support one. Implants need a minimum bone width and height to anchor properly.
How long does the bone graft take to heal?
3-6 months for the graft material to integrate and become strong enough to support an implant. We'll re-image at the end of that period to confirm sufficient bone before placing the implant.
Where does the graft material come from?
Multiple sources - synthetic (mineral-based), bovine (cow-derived), or allograft (donated human bone, processed and sterilized). All are FDA-approved and safe. Your dentist will recommend the right one for your case.
Is it painful?
During the procedure: no - local anesthetic. After: similar to an extraction - soreness for 3-5 days, managed with pain relievers. Most patients are back to normal within a week.
How much does bone grafting cost?
Our self-pay price is $299 per site for routine grafts. We provide an itemized estimate before treatment begins.
