What is it?

A first dental visit that sets the tone for life.

Children's teeth need the same preventive care adults do — but kids respond best to a calmer pace, simpler explanations, and providers who know how to make a chair feel like an adventure rather than a test.

We see kids from age 3 onward for routine cleanings, exams, sealants, fluoride treatments, and minor cavities. For complex cases or very young children, we partner with trusted pediatric specialists.

Why choose us

Why patients choose Pediatric Dentistry.

Kid-paced visits

No rushing. We let kids ride up in the chair, hold the mirror, and ask questions. Comfort first, always.

Sealants & fluoride

Two of the most effective cavity-prevention tools we have. Both are quick, painless, and covered by most plans.

Habits that stick

We coach brushing, flossing, and snacking choices in language kids actually engage with — no scare tactics.

Whole-family booking

Bring the kids and the adults on one visit. Three dentists on staff makes scheduling easy.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends a first visit by age 1, but most kids do great starting around age 3 for full cleanings. Earlier visits are usually a quick "happy visit" — counting teeth, no procedures, getting comfortable.

My child is anxious about dental visits — how do you handle that?

We start slow. The first visit might just be a tour of the office, a chair ride, and a chat. We never force a procedure on an anxious child, and we work with parents to build comfort over time.

Do you offer sedation for kids?

For straightforward visits, no — we rely on calm pacing and clear communication. For more involved procedures or extreme anxiety, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) which is safe and well-studied for children.

Do baby teeth really matter? They're going to fall out anyway.

Yes — baby teeth hold space for the permanent teeth coming in behind them. Losing them too early (from decay) can lead to crowding and crooked permanent teeth later. Cavities in baby teeth also hurt and can lead to infection.

Is fluoride safe?

Yes, in the doses we use. Topical fluoride applied at a dental visit is one of the most studied, most effective cavity-prevention tools in modern dentistry. We follow ADA guidelines for both adult and pediatric application.
